Introduction
Seanix respects your right to privacy. We will only collect and utilize
personal data and personal information in the following manner.
Collection of
Personal Information
Seanix only collects personal information that you voluntarily provide
to us. This information may be collected through e-mail correspondence,
telephone conversations, fax or letter correspondence, or filling out
forms on our website. Again, this information is only collected
voluntarily when you provide us with personal information about yourself
or your individual customers for the purposes of doing business with us.
The type and accuracy of the information collected depends on what you
provide to us.
All information you provide us with is, of course, optional. However, we
are better able to effectively serve your needs by having been provided
with certain types of information about you and/or your individual
customers (such as contact information, business genre, etc.). Should
it turn out to be insufficient for us to initiate or maintain an
ordinary business relationship, then this may of course jeopardize our
ability to conduct business together.
Collection of
Customer Information from our Seanix Authorized Resellers and Service
Centres
Because of the nature of our business, it is sometimes necessary to
collect information on our Reseller’s end user customers and Seanix
Authorized Service Centre customers. This is required for the purposes
of fulfilling contractually obligated delivery of personal computers and
related products, and to provide after-sales warranty and support.
Please note that if you are an authorized reseller or service centre of
Seanix products, you will be responsible for becoming compliant with all
local and federal laws and regulations relating to the transfer of your
customer’s information to Seanix. Further, we disclaim any and all
liability, in all areas of law (including but not limited to tort,
contract and proprietary rights and interests), whether or not we have
been advised of same, arising from anything related to your failure to
comply with privacy laws.
Use by Seanix of
Personal Information
Some sections of the Seanix website ask
users to provide contact and demographic information. We use customer
contact information to send the end user information about our company
and to contact the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of
receiving future mailings. See the choice/opt-out section below.
Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site through the
use of “cookies". We use this data to tailor the visitor's experience,
showing them content that we think they might be interested in, and
displaying the content according to their preferences. We may also use
your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to
administer the Seanix website. All personal information is used by
Seanix Technology only and for the purpose of servicing our
customersneeds. We do not share or sell this information to third
parties.
Disclosure of Personal Information
WE DO NOT disclose, reveal, share or
otherwise disseminate any personally identifiable details about you or
any end user customers to any third parties except in the following
limited circumstances: (a) if required to do so by law, (b) if permitted
under the Personal Information Protection Act of British Columbia (or if
you are located in another jurisdiction, with the privacy laws in force
in such jurisdiction), or (c) with the prior permission of you or the
applicable end user customer.
How do we protect
your information?
When information
you provide arrives on our server, it is protected behind a firewall
that allows only authorized users to access it. Personal information
provided to us via another medium is protected by the standard
safeguards Seanix has in place to protect confidential information.
Accessing Information
Seanix maintains the accuracy of any personal information collected
based on your willingness to provide it, and the corresponding accuracy
of the information you provide to us. You may access any of your own
personal information by providing us with a written request.
Use of
“Cookies"
We use "cookies"
to customize the information that we present to you. A cookie is a small
text file that does not personally identify users, although it does
identify a user's computer. Cookies do not pose a threat to your
computer and they do not contain viruses. Most web browsers
automatically accept cookies, but you can change this feature in your
browser although certain customization features of the site will not be
available to you.
